The Arabian Gulf and the Indian Ocean (less than an hour away from most resorts) offer amazing diving and for the more adventurous, try a dive from the famous Musandam Peninsula. Golf
Home to the world-renowned Dubai Desert Classic, and with over 10-world class golf clubs in Dubai and all year round sunshine, Dubai is fast becoming a serious contender to Portugal and Florida for Europeans as an amazing golf destination. Dubai is also launching Nakheel Golf and Dubai Sports City with course designs from Greg Norman and Ernie Els expanding the golf facilities here in the near future.
Horseback Riding/Horse Racing/Camel Racing
Trail Riding, Western and Dressage are all available in this country of beautiful Arabian horses. Experience rides over beaches, open country or through mountain trails. Or come during the famous Dubai Gold Cup for the most expensive purse in the world. Dubai Gold Cup now competes with Royal Ascot for top class racing and a chance to dress up and drink champagne with the Emirate racing elite.
Camel racing is a deep-rooted traditional sport that finds its origins in the desert culture of the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa, and the Middle East. A great experience for all the family .
Nightclubs/Theatres/Live Music and Restaurants
Dubai offers a truly eclectic mix offering all-night venues if you should be so inclined. Dance clubs, jazz clubs, comedy clubs, karaoke clubs, Salsa dancing in Cuban restaurants are all-available in Dubai. Theatres and regular live concerts are also a big part of the nightlife here.
The restaurants are in a class of their own and due to the high standard and competition between restaurants results in superb service and amazing meals.

Observation Deck – Burj Khalifa

Situated on the 124th floor of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, it offers some of the most amazing views of the Dubai Skyline, from its uniquely positioned location.  Standing 442 metres tall, it is recognized as the highest outdoor observation deck in the world. 
Shopping / Markets
Dubai arguably has some of the best retail Malls in the world with designer malls and unique themed malls springing up all the time. One of the newest to the Dubai scene is the Dubai Mall, situated at the base of the Burj Khalifa.  Offering just about every name brand available, it also houses the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, an indoor ice-skating rink, a family entertainment zone, and the Dubai Fountain with its amazing dancing waters.

Since 1996 it has hosted the “Dubai Shopping Festival’ (January typically) where fantastic sales draw people from around the world each year. The Malls are alive with entertainment, and cultural extravaganza that continues to promote tourism in Dubai all year round.

Of interest to visitors here are the markets in many of the shopping areas like Madinat Jumeirah  with its uniquely designed Arabian Souk-style setting and meandering waterways, and in the Dubai Marina Walk, that offers a wonderful outdoor arts and crafts market every Friday & Saturday, from October – April.  It is open from 10 a.m. till late evening. With fifty stalls selling a wide variety of quality handicrafts and gift items, such as ethnic fashion and accessories, exotic home-wares, wall art and photography, handmade children’s items as well as an array of locally made souvenirs, the Marina Market is literally a breath of fresh air among the many malls of Dubai.  For a more traditional shopping venue, guests can enjoy an enrichment of the senses, by visiting Dubai’s famous Gold and Spice Souks.
Ski Dubai
For a really innovative project,visitors can experience a bit of the Alpine in the middle of the desert at Ski Dubai where great skiing, snowboarding, and a children’s ice park are available.  They even offer lessons for those interested in learning the sport.  Situated within the Mall of the Emirates, it is centrally located, and offers easy access from all areas of the city.
Wadi Bashing
Wadi Bashing is an activity known to adventure seekers worldwide. Wadis are dry riverbeds that follow the course of seasonal streams flowing through rocky valleys. Wadi bashing in Dubai is all about riding through wadis in four-wheelers with experienced drivers who know the terrain and can put the car through its paces.
Water Park Fun
Dubai offers 2 world-class water parks, AquaVenture, and Wild Wadi.

AquaVenture is the newest of the two water parks.  Located within Atlantis – The Palm resort on the Palm Jumeirah, it is largest water park in the Middle East region.  This 42 acre park houses speedslides, rivers, rapids, luscious gardens, a private beach, and a children’s playground; but it is most known for its thrill-seeking Ziggurat, standing 27. 5 metres tall and 61 metres long, its near vertical drop provides a sense of free-falling through a clear tunnel that runs through its shark-filled lagoon.  What a rush!  Guests can also visit Dolphin Bay, where they can interact with these amazingly gentle creatures.

Situated in between the famous Burj Al Arab 7 Star hotel, and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, is the fantastic Premier Wild Wadi Water Park. Great for all ages,  this Middle Eastern themed park, offers over 30 rides and attractions to enjoy.  Here, visitors can experience the ultimate in surfing fun, or the largest wave pool in the region.   For the thrill-seekers, there is the Jumeirah Sceirah, a speekslide that catapults rides to speeds of over 80 kms per hour, and Master Blasters, a series of wild aquatic roller-coaster rides with high-powered water jets.
